New Chevy Cruze posts 42 mpg on highway, GM says




The city and highway ratings for the new Cruze each jumped 4 mpg from those of the outgoing car.





DETROIT — When Chevrolet launched the first Cruze in fall 2010, engineers cobbled together an Eco model with aerodynamic shutters, rolling resistant tires and other tricks — all in an effort to coax a 40 mpg-plus fuel-economy rating in highway driving.
